First Aid Course 18th July 2010

Colin Bowers, the JS Safety Officer, has organised a first aid course to run on 18th July 2010.  If you are interested, please contact  office@royaldart.co.uk to find out more.

Volunteers needed for 2011

After three years at the helm, Tim and Diana Dewing are stepping down as RYA Principal and Administrator respectively later this year.  Volunteers are needed to take their places and continue this very worthwhile activity.  Seeing 50 children on the water each week in a well run activity gives a huge sense of satisfaction which far outweighs the effort involved in running it.  If you think you can help, please contact diana@azimuthmc.co.uk or office@royaldart.co.uk.

Junior Points Series

Start thinking now about reserving a club boat for the Junior Points Series that starts on Tuesday 20th July.  Ask JS Admin for a form.

RYA Inspection 26th June 2010

Team racing has been postponed until after the RYA inspection.  Watch this space for notice of the new date.

Clewless Capers

For those of you who are new to the Royal Dart Yacht Club, Clewless is our Junior Sailing Mascot (see picture).

She is one of the Splice Gang and her closest friends are called Headless and Tackless.

By keeping up-to-date with the Splice Gang, we learn what NOT to do on a boat!

Last summer we met Spinny who is always in a flap (not a good way to be on a boat), and Lee Shore who is best avoided.  We also came across the Boom Brothers Vang and Kicker who take the wind right out of your sails.

Nobody knows who will turn up next.  Keep your eyes open and use the Contact Us page to write in if you see Clewless or any of her friends.
